Thumbs Down From a Student (2007-01-28)
I was the student in 1984 that discovered that the DPI (Now renamed Florida Technical College) was involved with widespread fraud. No one who graduated from the computer courses offered by the Tampa, Orlando, or Jacksonville campuses has a valid diploma. They shorted the clock hours of every course by as much as 50%. They ripped off millions of dollars in student loans by fraudulently claiming that the courses were valid. They had two school catalogs - one for the students and another for the inspectors - with different course lengths. We sued and the DPI changed its name to Florida Technical College.
